Markie Post
Markie Post grew-up in Walnut Creek. She
started her career as a TV and film producer, notably "The New Card
Sharks", (1978), and "Card Sharks," (1986). She went on to
produce projects such as Double Dare (1976), and has been featured on many
television shows such as E! True Hollywood Story (1996) and Electra Woman and
Dyna Girl (2001). Perhaps her most famous TV role was as "Christine
Sullivan" on Night Court (1984). From 1984 until 1992 she played in 156
episodes. She was the daughter of Marylee (Armstrong) Post, a poet, and noted
nuclear physical scientist Richard Freeman Post (November 14 1918 - April 7 in
2015). Two daughters, Katie Ross (born June 26, 1987) and Daisy Ross (born on
March 30 in 1990) were born in her second wedding to Michael A. Ross. She was
born in Palo Alto, California, and grew up in Walnut Creek, California. As a
cheerleader, she attended Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek. The Bachelor
of Arts degree from Lewis & Clark College in Portland Oregon. She was a
trick roper on The Wildest West Show of the Stars (1986). The body was cremated
and the cremated remains returned to her husband Michael A. Ross. She was a
long-time Democrat. Markie Post, who was three months removed from her 71st
birthday on the 4th of November 2021, died on August 7. She was just 27 days
from Charles Robinson, Night Court (1984) as well as her co-star who passed
away on July 11 in 2020. While the two shows were completely unrelated, Night
Court (1984) was cancelled in 1992 when her character Christine Sullivan,
leaving for Washington DC, and Hearts Afire (1992) was released later that year
with Post portraying a brand new character Georgie Lahti. She coincidentally
worked in Washington DC (and later moving to a smaller town).
