Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Anne Burrell. Burrell is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Chef Burrell has worked in many of the best eateries within New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion of cooking and food at a young age. She pursued her love of the restaurant industry by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic learning experience. I could not be more educated or accomplished in my studies. After graduation, Burrell spent one year learning in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred establishment. In Italy, Chef Burrell gained an appreciation and knowledge of Italian cuisine. It made a huge impact on how she views food. Burrell was the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to enhance living conditions for children facing challenges. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of children's diabetes. She frequently travels around the country in her role as a mentor as well as a guest speaker where she discusses her professional life and the joy of cooking. Through her culinary adventures, Anne often says that she feels very fortunate to share my passion to others.
